About this project
Help an alien understand love. Help humans understand each other.
The alien is fictional. The human answers are real, apart from any preview marked as sample text. He asks about love in all its forms: romance, friendship, family, community, and ordinary care.
How answers are gathered
Anyone may answer, and the people here are those who chose to. They are not a representative sample, and nothing here describes humans in general. The numbers currently draw on up to 0 people.
Real words and the alien's words
Passages labeled as human are their own words, reviewed by a person. We only change details to protect privacy, and we say so when we do. The alien's notes are our interpretation. He may be wrong.
How themes are made
People read the answers to each of the three questions separately and group them by what happened in the story. A theme describes a story, never the person who told it. We do not score love.
Use of AI
AI may suggest possible themes or draft summaries. A human checks every published claim against the original answers. AI never writes or rewrites participants' words.
Privacy and contact
We do not publish names unless someone gives us a signature to use, and we use cookie-free, aggregate analytics. If you think a story identifies you, tell us and we will hide it while we review it.
